Science (Grade 10 – College Preparation)

This course enables students to develop a deeper understanding of concepts in biology, chemistry, earth and space science, and physics and of the relationships between science, technology, society, and the environment. Students are also given opportunities to further develop their scientific investigation skills.

Unit 1: Biology – Living Systems

Students examine how cells, tissues, and organs work together in living organisms.

Unit 2: Chemistry – Chemical Reactions in Everyday Life

Students investigate chemical reactions and their practical applications.

Unit 3: Earth and Space Science – Climate Systems

Students examine factors influencing climate change and environmental sustainability.

Unit 4: Physics – Light and Technology

Students explore how light interacts with materials and technologies.

Unit 5: Scientific Inquiry Skills

Students apply scientific investigation skills through hands-on experiments and research.

Unit 6: Culminating Scientific Project

Students complete a final project demonstrating their understanding of scientific concepts.
