Physics (Grade 12 – University Preparation)

This course enables students to deepen their understanding of physics concepts and theories. Students will continue their exploration of energy transformations and the forces that affect motion, and will investigate electrical, gravitational, and magnetic fields.

Unit 1: Dynamics

Students examine motion and the forces that influence objects in motion.

Unit 2: Energy and Momentum

Students explore energy transformations and conservation principles.

Unit 3: Gravitational, Electric, and Magnetic Fields

Students investigate field theory and its applications.

Unit 4: The Wave Nature of Light

Students explore light as a wave and its behaviour in different environments.

Unit 5: Modern Physics Applications

Students examine technological applications of physics concepts.

Unit 6: Culminating Physics Investigation

Students complete a final investigation demonstrating their understanding of physics principles.
