Music (Grade 10)

This course enables students to develop their musical literacy through the creation, appreciation, analysis, and performance of music. Students will develop an understanding of music theory and explore music from a variety of cultures and historical periods.

Unit 1: Music Theory and Fundamentals

Students review and expand their understanding of musical notation, rhythm, and harmony.

Unit 2: Instrumental or Vocal Performance

Students develop performance techniques through rehearsal and musical interpretation.

Unit 3: Music History and Styles

Students explore musical traditions and styles from various cultures and historical periods.

Unit 4: Composition and Creativity

Students create original musical works using compositional techniques and digital tools.

Unit 5: Ensemble Collaboration

Students develop collaboration skills through group rehearsals and performances.

Unit 6: Culminating Musical Performance

Students present a final musical performance demonstrating their technical and expressive abilities.
