The Grade 6 Language course strengthens students' ability to read critically, write clearly, and communicate effectively. Students explore a variety of literary and informational texts while developing stronger comprehension and analytical skills. Students learn to express ideas with greater clarity and organization while continuing to develop confidence as readers, writers, and communicators.

Unit 1: Reading Development

Students read a wide range of literary and informational texts while developing strategies to identify themes, analyze characters, and interpret key ideas.

Unit 2: Writing Development

Students organize ideas into well-structured paragraphs and multi-paragraph compositions. They practice narrative writing, informational reports, persuasive writing, and responses to reading.

Unit 3: Oral Communication

Students strengthen speaking and listening skills through discussions, presentations, and collaborative activities that encourage respectful dialogue and thoughtful responses.

Unit 4: Media Literacy

Students analyze media messages and examine how images, language, and sound influence audiences and communicate ideas.
