Description

The Grade 2 Arts program provides opportunities for students to express creativity and explore ideas through visual arts, music, drama, and dance. Students develop imagination, confidence, and artistic skills while experimenting with different forms of creative expression.

Unit 1: Visual Arts

Students create artwork using drawing, painting, collage, and mixed media while exploring elements such as colour, line, shape, and texture.

Unit 2: Music

Students develop musical awareness through singing, rhythm activities, listening exercises, and simple instrument exploration.

Unit 3: Drama

Students participate in storytelling, role-play, and imaginative activities that encourage expression and communication.

Unit 4: Dance

Students explore movement and rhythm while responding to music through guided dance activities.
