Foundations of Mathematics (Grade 10 – College Preparation)

This course enables students to consolidate their understanding of linear relations and extend their problem-solving and algebraic skills through investigation, the effective use of technology, and hands-on activities. Students will develop and graph equations in analytic geometry, solve and apply linear systems, investigate and apply measurement relationships, and explore quadratic relations.

Unit 1: Linear Relations

Students review and extend their understanding of linear relations and graphing.

Unit 2: Systems of Linear Equations

Students solve systems of equations using graphical and algebraic methods.

Unit 3: Measurement and Geometry

Students apply measurement concepts and geometric reasoning to real-world problems.

Students investigate quadratic patterns and relationships.

Unit 5: Applications of Mathematics

Students apply mathematical skills to solve practical problems involving measurement, geometry, and algebra.

Unit 6: Culminating Mathematical Project
