This course provides opportunities for students to explore dramatic forms, conventions, and techniques. Students will create, perform, and analyze dramatic works and develop skills in improvisation, script writing, and performance.

Unit 1: Introduction to Drama and Performance

Students explore the elements of drama and learn foundational acting techniques through theatre games and improvisation exercises.

Unit 2: Character Development and Improvisation

Students develop acting skills through improvisational activities and character exploration.

Unit 3: Script Analysis and Scene Work

Students analyze scripts and perform scenes while exploring dramatic structure and storytelling.

Unit 4: Production and Stagecraft

Students examine the technical elements of theatre production, including set design, lighting, sound, and costume.

Unit 5: Creating Original Dramatic Works
