This course provides opportunities for students to explore dramatic forms, conventions, and techniques. Students will create, perform, and analyze dramatic works and develop skills in improvisation, script writing, and performance.

Unit 1: Foundations of Dramatic Performance

Students explore the elements of drama and develop foundational acting skills through improvisation and theatre exercises.

Unit 2: Character Development and Improvisation

Students develop character-building techniques and explore improvisational performance.

Unit 3: Script Analysis and Scene Study

Students examine dramatic texts and perform scenes while exploring dramatic structure and storytelling.

Unit 4: Theatre Production and Stagecraft

Students explore technical theatre elements including stage design, lighting, and costume.

Unit 5: Creating Original Dramatic Works

Students collaborate to create and rehearse original dramatic pieces.

Unit 6: Culminating Performance Project

Students present a final dramatic performance demonstrating their acting and production skills.
