Communications Technology (Grade 9)

This course enables students to explore communications technology from a media perspective. Students develop knowledge and skills as they design and produce media projects in areas such as photography, video production, graphic communications, and digital media.

Unit 1: Introduction to Media and Communications Technology

Students explore the role of communications technology in society and learn basic media production skills.

Unit 2: Photography and Digital Imaging

Students develop photography skills and learn techniques for digital image editing.

Unit 3: Graphic Design and Print Media

Students explore visual communication and design using graphic design tools.

Unit 4: Audio and Video Production

Students learn the fundamentals of recording, editing, and producing audio and video media.

Unit 5: Media Literacy and Communication

Students analyze media messages and explore the impact of media on audiences.

Unit 6: Culminating Media Production Project

Students create a final media project demonstrating their communication and production skills.
