This course enables students to explore communications technology from a media perspective. Students develop knowledge and skills as they design and produce media projects in the areas of live, recorded, and graphic communications. These areas may include television, video, and movie production; radio and audio production; print and graphic communications; photography; digital imaging; broadcast journalism; and interactive new media.

Unit 1: Introduction to Communications Technology

Students explore the role of communications technology in modern media and society.

Unit 2: Photography and Digital Imaging

Students develop photography skills and learn digital editing techniques.

Unit 3: Graphic Design and Visual Communication

Students explore design principles and produce visual media using graphic design tools.

Unit 4: Audio and Video Production

Students develop skills in recording, editing, and producing audio and video media.

Unit 5: Media Literacy and Communication

Students analyze media messages and explore the influence of media on audiences.

Unit 6: Culminating Media Production Project
